Sorting Photos

Today’s update.

I fed myself. I showered. I took my meds. I had an in-person therapy session with my therapist.

Afterward, I stopped to pick up the photos for Saturday and picked up my meds while I was out.

Now I’m home, sorting through photos.

Photos of my mom. Photos of our family. Little pieces of a life that somehow have to be sorted and chosen to help tell her story.

It’s strange how something as simple as going through pictures can feel so different when you’re choosing them for your mom’s funeral.

But I got through today.

I took care of myself. I went to therapy. I did the things that needed to be done.

And now I’m sitting here with a lifetime of memories spread out in front of me.

Saturday is getting closer.

I don’t think I’m ready for it.
