Today Is Different

Today’s update.

I managed to eat breakfast and take my meds, but today is a lot different than yesterday.

Yesterday, I managed to get out of bed. I did a little work. I took a shower. For a moment, it felt like maybe I was making some progress.

Today, I can’t get out of bed.

My body feels heavy. Everything feels heavy.

And all I seem to be able to do is cry.

I’m starting to realize that grief doesn’t care what you managed to do yesterday. It doesn’t mean that because yesterday was a little easier, today will be too.

So today, I’m in bed.

Today, I’m crying.

And today, getting through the day is enough.
