I wouldn’t call today an overly productive day, but it was definitely a lot better than yesterday.
And honestly, I’ll take that.
Beaker and I got out of the house and went to the mailbox, then we headed out to pick up my medications. Nothing particularly exciting happened, but getting out of the house was good. Yesterday I couldn’t even convince myself to do that, so today already feels like a step in the right direction.
When we got home, I did some work in the office.
It’s still very much a work in progress, but every time I spend a little time in there, it gets a little closer to being the space I want it to be. I’m slowly making room for myself again, and I think that’s becoming more important to me than I realized.
I’m not trying to tackle the entire house anymore.
I’m just doing what I can, when I can.
And today, I did what needed to be done.
That’s enough.
I’m getting ready for bed now, and I’m actually hoping I can get some decent sleep tonight. The last few days have been a bit of a roller coaster, and I’m learning that sometimes a quieter day is exactly what I need.
Yesterday was a mediocre, shitty day.
Today was better.
Not amazing.
Not particularly productive.
Just better.
And maybe that’s how this whole day-by-day thing is supposed to work. I don’t have to make every day count in some enormous, life-changing way. Sometimes making it through the day, getting the necessary things done and ending the night feeling slightly better than I did the night before is enough.
So yay, I guess.
I did the stuff.
Beaker got his adventure.
My meds were acquired.
My office got a little more attention.
And now I’m going to bed.
I’ll take the win.
